On April 19th and 20th, Alumni Dave Pierce, attended the Tropical 7’s Rugby Tournament in Orlando, Florida. The tournament is an exciting event that brings youth teams from around the world together for top competition in Olympic-style Rugby 7’s and is open to all teams of various skill levels for boys and girls. While there, Dave was able to represent Radford University and help recruit for the Radford Rugby team. It appeared that Radford was the only university represented at the event which allowed Dave to “speak to a good number of kids, all of whom were looking to continue playing into college, so it was great being able to speak to them about Radford.” Not only was Dave able to display our Radford Rugby banner, but Radford University also supplied brochures and other recruitment items to support him. It was a great tournament said Dave and having Radford University alongside us for support makes our continued efforts for recruitment and athletic success more attainable! We look forward to more events like this and continue to appreciate all the sacrifices that our alumni make for the club!
